03.4 / Subguide

Variations between products

Show products with their own records as choices on each other’s pages. Choose between Standard and Variation Pro to suit your catalogue.

01 / Guide

Choosing an option changes the product page

Each option is a separate product. Linking them lets customers move from one product page to another. Each product keeps its own descriptions, media and product information in its own record.

02 / Guide

Standard: products under one heading

  1. Create a group heading under Product → Product Variations.
  2. Select the existing products to show in the group.
  3. Save the group. The products appear as options on each other’s pages.
When should you use it?

Use Standard when related products should appear in a single option group. You do not need subheadings or product values.

03 / Guide

Variation Pro: headings and product values

Start with an overall group heading, such as T-shirts. Then add subheadings such as Colour, Length or Size. Assign the corresponding values to each product in the group. One product can have values under multiple headings.

Example productAssigned values
Red T-shirt — separate product recordColour: Red · Size: M · Length: 70 cm
Blue T-shirt — separate product recordColour: Blue · Size: L · Length: 74 cm
“Pro” is not a plan requirement

Variation Pro is available to everyone. Here, Pro is the name of the variation structure, not a requirement to purchase a Pro plan.

04 / Guide

Choose the right structure

  • Standard links existing products under a single heading.
  • Variation Pro presents products using headings and values such as colour, length or size.
  • Within-product variations handle combinations with their own stock and price within a single product.
